Aloha Indoor Mini Glow Golf in Braintree, MA

Visited on May 3, 2026

Nothing says summer like a round of mini golf, but when the warm weather ends, so does the fun. However, places like Aloha Mini Glow Golf have been popping up all over New England offering indoor mini golf all year round!

Aloha just recently opened at the South Shore Plaza in Braintree, MA. It’s a glow golf venue offering 18 holes priced at $16.99 per person.

My husband and I visited on a Sunday afternoon to face off for some icecream.

We parked in the parking garage next to Target on the second level. Where we entered, we took a left and then headed down the escalator to the venue, but to make the route simpler on yourself, park in the garage next to Sears instead. Here’s a map for you!

Walking into Aloha transports you to a tropical, glowing environment. Everything in the venue is so fun to look at, with hand painted signage and murals everywhere.

This review is very photo heavy because I want to show you all the gorgeous murals! I could look at these photos for hours and really enjoyed editing my footage for YouTube!

You can see the beautiful glowing murals from the outside of the venue!

When you check in, your given the low down on the experience. There are 18 holes to play and the last hole is a game of Plinko. If you get your ball into the top hole you get a free admission ticket for your next visit!

Next, we were asked to chose a ball and grab our score cards and pencils. They even had a basket of free glow bracelets! I picked out a blue one.

I think the glow bracelets are such a nice touch.

Next, you walk to the right and pick your putter. The employee who checked us in recommended that we grab putters at hip height for the best fit.

There is fun tape around each putter to add a little color and glow!

Putters in hand, it was time to begin! We started at hole one (obviously) and were behind a small group of teens. Although they were in front of us, we didn’t have to wait long to start our game. As we waited, we got a chance to read the rules and take in the murals around the venue. I am so impressed with the art and decor. There are even faux plants and flowers to enhance the tropical vibe! The owners did a truly fantastic job decorating.

The faux plants, like these banana trees, throughout the venue add to the tropical vibe!

The golfing surfaces are carpet, and the frames are constructed of wood painted with glow or neon paint so they glow.

At a typical mini golf course, inclines are utilized to make the course challenging. Here, however, there are wood blocks on the course that create obstacles or places for your ball to bounce off of. This makes the path of your ball unpredictable, adding a fun challenge to each hole.

My husband is very good at mini golf (to my dismay). I’ve never beaten him, but even he was putting high numbers due to the wood block obstacles. For us, this added to the experience. We love the fact that it took us longer to get through each hole, and that, even despite planning where to hit it, the ball would take unexpected turns. It led to a lot of laughs.

Since it took us a while to putt each hole, we ended up falling behind the group in front of us and didn’t have to wait to start out putts after hole three.

The dino murals are some of my favorites because they add whimsy to the tropical environment!

The overall atmosphere of the venue is energetic. There is music playing in the background, but it isn’t overwhelmingly loud. When I was researching Aloha before checking it out I figured the music would be super loud, like other indoor golf venues (looking at you Putt Shack), so I was pleasantly surprised!

Since this is an exciting game, people were laughing and occasionally shouting excitedly, but the venue is so large that it was not bothersome or overstimulating.

Something about the atmosphere that neither of us enjoyed though was the temperature. It sure felt like we were on a tropical island! It was chilly outside so I wore a light long sleeve shirt and yoga pants. My husband was in a tee shirt and shorts and we were both very hot. Towards the last hole we felt a little cooler, likely because of the mall entrance being close to that area, but we didn’t fully cool off until we got outside.

I think the uncomfortable temp ratings in some of my recent reviews is due in part to the fact that New England is in that weird limbo area with temp where it’s too cold outside to turn on the AC, but too warm for the heat, so the air stays off. For an activity where you aren’t moving around a lot this is okay, but since golfing requires bending, walking, and moving we got hot quickly.

This ball tunnel was fun to putt my ball into. It came out the other side near the hole.

We enjoyed our time putting through all 18 holes. The artwork adorned in glow paint really adds to the pleasing visual aesthetic of the venue.

The black lights can be a little overwhelming after a while because there are few areas with normal lighting. You are in a dark, glowing environment for almost the entire experience. They can also be a little bit disorienting when stepping up or off the courses. I stumbled a couple times because I misjudged the steepness of the step down.

We made it to the final hole: The Plinko Hole!

The idea is simple, putt your ball into the Plinko board and if it lands into the top hole, you win a free admission for the next time you visit! I love this fun addition to the course. I think it’s creative and gives great incentive to return.

Unfortunately, neither of us had luck on our side as our balls both missed the top hole on their way down to the ball return.

We placed our putters on the check in desk for the employees to take and tallied up our scores. To my disappointment (but not surprise), I lost, so icecream was on me.

The mall does have some icecream options, but we headed over to Ben and Jerry’s at 30 Forbes Road instead. It’s in the plaza across the street from the mall.

I got a Marshmallow Sky icecream, which is a light blue colored icecream with swirls of marshmallow and two kinds of cookie dough pieces! My husband got a Coffee Coffee Buzz Buzz Buzz, which is coffee icecream with chocolate espresso chunks. I almost died laughing when he ordered it by name, completely serious with a straight face.

We’re big fans of Ben and Jerry’s. I hope to review the HQ in Vermont this year!

Mini golf and icecream is already such a fun date activity, but we especially enjoyed the unique experience that Aloha Mini Golf provides. It mixes up traditional mini golf in new and fun ways that extended our play time and enjoyment!

Sensory and Accessibility Ratings

Noise 5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The music is turned down low enough to be enjoyable in the background. Other conversations aren’t too loud since you don’t have to yell over music to be heard. Occasionally, people can get rowdy while golfing, but the venue is large enough that the sound is not overwhelming.

Crowds 5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The venue is large enough that it doesn’t feel overcrowded and it feels like you can be in your own personal bubble with your group as you golf. We were behind a group of four teens initially, but due to the challenging holes, we fell behind after hole three, so we didn’t have to wait a long time to golf. If there were many people golfing, I could see a wait building up. In total, there were four or five groups on the course with us.

Smells 5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

There are no noticeable smells!

Lighting 3/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️

From a sensory perspective, I think the black lights have the potential to become overstimulating.

Although there is orange paint showing where the frame of the courses are, there were a couple times I stumbled coming on and off the course because I misjudged the steepness. I wonder if small lights, similar to those in a theater, would mitigate this.

Overall, I do love how the black lights interact with the murals, putters and balls. It is a really cool effect!

Temperature 1/5 ⭐️

We were very warm during our time here. I’m thinking this is a result of it being too cold outside to justify turning on the AC, but the lack of air plus the movement of golfing caused us to feel uncomfortably warm. Towards the last holes, we felt some air, but we didn’t full cool off until we exited the mall into the chilly air outside. I want to return in the summer to see if the air is cool in the venue.

Spots for Decompressing 2/5 ⭐️⭐️

There aren’t many places to sit and relax. The venue lacks the benches that you might see on an outdoor course. However, there’s a slight ledge near hole four that you can sit on if you need somewhere to decompress between holes.

A ledge with a green putter and pink ball lying on it sits in front on a mural of a tiki figure.
This ledge is located near hole 4. While not the best option for decompressing, it is sturdy enough to sit on.

Accessibility 2/5 ⭐️⭐️

There is a step on to and off of most of the courses. There’s plenty of space to navigate a mobility device alongside the courses, so someone on a mobility device could come to watch the game, but may have trouble playing. As an aside, I know how tough it is to find mini golf places that are handicap accessible. My mom (who is disabled) and I have been on the hunt for one for a couple of years now. We think we found two that may work, so stayed tuned for those reviews this summer!

Restroom Rundown ?

The venue itself doesn’t have a restroom. There are restrooms in the mall that I considered highlighting for the RR, but this category is supposed to detail the venue’s bathroom. The mall’s bathrooms are handicap accessible and the closest one is next to the Gap. Here is a map showing the path from Aloha Mini Golf to the nearest restroom.

General Review-y Aspects

Pricing 4/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We paid $16.99 each for a game of 18 holes. I think the unique challenge of each hole, weather proof environment and eccentric atmosphere justify the price. However, there are outdoor mini golf places that are just as nice charging a little less than half the price.

Atmosphere 5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

They nailed the decor here. I love the murals and faux plants throughout the venue. They give such a tropical vibe. There is a clear attention to detail with the decor. The courses are well maintained and painted nicely as well.

The music is upbeat and fun, but still at a reasonable volume, which enhanced the atmosphere for me.

Customer Service 5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The employee who checked us in and explained the process to us was welcoming and professional. When we were leaving, the employee who took our putters was kind as well.

Location/Parking 4/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The fact that the venue is indoors is a huge benefit because it’s climate controlled, so you can mini golf no matter the weather!

It’s located on a quieter side of the mall. If you park on the lower level of the parking garage next to Sears and enter in the mall entrance, it’s located to the left upon entering. Due to the location, we didn’t see any mall crowds this time. However, I think if you visit any time after Thanksgiving you’d likely run into the crowds, which can be very overstimulating.

We had a blast golfing at Aloha Mini Golf and the tropical vibes gave me a reassuring reminder that summer will be here before I know it! Although, it’s May and I wrote this review with my heat on, wrapped up in a sweatshirt. 😣

Thanks for reading my review; your support means the world to me! ☺️

Aloha! 👋🌺
