Hi! My name’s Jess and I’m so glad you stopped by! I’m from Massachusetts and started Jess Visits to review places and events in the New England area (and sometimes beyond!) with sensory sensitive individuals in mind.
I have Generalized Anxiety Disorder and I am an introvert who is sensory sensitive. I also have wonderful neurodivergent friends and a lovely mom who has MS and uses a mobility scooter.
I not only wanted to write reviews, but I wanted to include helpful information to people who are sensory sensitive or disabled to consider before checking a place out. In addition to the usual review components, my reviews also touch on things like temperature, noise and crowd levels, accessibility including restrooms, places to decompress and even smells! Any sensory or accessibility detail that I would wonder about before heading somewhere new, I include in my reviews.

I have an AA in English and wrote for my college’s newspaper for over two years. I also served as the Managing Editor for a semester before being promoted to the Editor-in-Chief where I served for just over a year before graduating. I have always had a passion for writing. As someone with anxiety, when words fail me, writing has always been the best way for me to express myself in both hard and joyous times.
When I’m not writing for my blog, I work at a human services company as a department manager. In addition to writing, I enjoy reading, cooking, watercolor painting, crocheting and playing calming games like Animal Crossing or Star Dew Valley. I live with my husband and four year old Belgian Malinois.
